Every form of Maa Durga holds a special significance and it is believed that worshipping of Maa Durga bestows one with spiritual fulfillment.

Maa Durga, is a form of Shakti who is manifested in various forms. Navadurga Maa is the most holy aspects of Goddess Durga. As per the Hindu Culture, Goddess Durga manifested herself in three major forms - Mahasaraswati, Mahalakshmi and Mahakali representing the active energies of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahashwar respectively. All these three forms of Durga further manifested in three more forms each, and thus emerged the nine divine forms of Durga, called Navdurga.
Navdurga - Goddess Durga´s Nine Avatars and their Special Significance
1st Day of Navratri - Shailaputri Puja
Durga Shailputri (Daughter of Mountain) : "Shail" means mountains, "Putri" means daughter. Parvati, the daughter of the King of the Mountains Himavan, is called 'Shailputri". Shailputri is the first among nine Durgas. The 1st night of Navratras is devoted to the puja of Shailputri . Her two hands display a trident and a lotus. Her mount is a bull.

2nd Day of Navratri - Brahmacharini Puja
The second Durga Shakti is Brahamcharini. Brahma the one who observes penance(tapa) and good conduct. Here "Brahma" means "Tapa". This form of Goddess Durga is very gorgeous. One hand holds a "Kumbha" or water pot, and the other holds a rosary. She personifies love and loyalty. Bhramcharini is the storehouse of knowledge and wisdom. Rudraksha beads are Her most adored ornaments!

The name of third Shakti is Chandraghanta. There is a half-circular moon on her forehead. She is charming and bright. She is Golden in color with ten hands and 3 eyes. Eight of her hands display weapons while the remaining two are in the mudras of gestures of boon giving and stopping harm. Chandra + Ghanta, meaning supreme bliss and knowledge, showering peace and serenity, like cool breeze in a moonlit night. This Durga Shakti rides a tiger.

4th Day of Navratri - Kushmanda Puja
With the fourth night begins the worship of Kushmanda, possessed of eight arms, holding weapons and a mala ( rosary), her mount is tiger and She emanates a solar aura. "Kumbh Bhand" means to see the cosmic dance in the form of Pindi; the knowledge of cosmic intricacies in the human race. The abode of Kushmanda is Bhimaparvat!

5th Day of Navratri - Skandamata Puja
Fifth name of Durga is "Skanda Mata". Riding a lion as Her chosen vehicle, She holds Her son skanda on her lap. It is said, by the mercy of Skandmata, even the fool becomes an ocean of knowledge.

6th Day of Navratri - Katyayani Puja
Katyayani is the 6th form of Goddess Durga. She represents the fierce form of Durga - Shakti and is associated with the Ajna Chakra. Katyayani was born to Kata as an avatar of Durga.

7th Day of Navratri - Kaalratri Puja
Black (or blue ) skin with bountiful hair and 4 hands, two clutching a cleaver and a torch while the remaining two are in the mudras of "giving" and "protecting". Her vehicle is a faithful donkey. The destroyer of darkness and ignorance. Kaalratri is the seventh form of Nav-Durga meaning scourer of darkness and enemy of darkness.

8th Day of Navratri - Maha Gauri Puja
The Eighth Durga is "Maha Gauri." She is as white as a conch, moon and Jasmine. She is eight years old. Durga Puja 2015 | Navratri Puja 2015 - 9 Nights of Power that will Transform Your Life‏

The Goddess is the invisible Divine Feminine that exists in men and women and ensures economic prosperity, beauty, luxury, joy, physical strength, and fertility. If your connection is weak then you suffer financially, physically, mentally and emotionally. But you do not have to suffer. The ancient Rishis discovered the secret of how to connect with the Goddess. Once a year the Goddess comes down to the earth plane for 9 Nights called Navratri. This is an important time for you, because without the Goddess, there is no life. The Goddess is extremely gracious and during Navratri, with the right techniques, your connection to the Goddess can be radically improved.

This coming Navratri is being celebrated from September 25th to October 3rd IST. The ancient seers of India identified Navratri as the time for the destruction of evil forces. The evil forces are real, they are demons known as: negativity, laziness, poverty and ignorance. Each year during Navratri the 3 Goddesses descend in their warrior forms to awaken the Earth from a deep slumber and to destroy all types of evil. The Goddess comes in three primordial forms: Durga (Goddess of Energy, a form of Parvati), Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth), and Saraswati (Goddess of Intelligence). Navratri occurs when the Hasta Birth Star lines up with the 1st Moon, at which time you can call on the 3 Goddesses for their Blessings and to safeguard you and your family. During the 9 Nights of Goddess Power, it is possible to connect with 3 Warrior Goddess Archetypes of Protection, Prosperity and Wisdom.

Astrology Details for Navratri 2015

Vishnu MayaThis year during Navratri, the planet Rahu will be in the sign of Virgo. Rahu is connected to Goddess Durga and Rahu will be very powerful in Virgo. In fact, all 9 Nights of this Navratri will be heavily influenced by Goddess Durga. Therefore, worshiping Navadurga (meaning the 9 forms of Durga) will be very beneficial. Both Goddess Lakshmi and Saraswati in their fierce forms also embody the energy of Durga in their ability to destroy negativity. Astrologically, this Navratri is more powerful because the Moon will be connecting with 4 powerful planets during the 9 Nights: Rahu, exalted Saturn, exalted Jupiter and a powerful Mars. This means that rituals performed during Navratri will be fortified by powerful planets and will receive the maximum blessings possible from the Goddess. Navratri is your chance to reawaken your dormant Goddess memories and create a lifelong personal bond.
