About Mokshada- Ekadasi Fast

The Ekadashi that occurs in the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha) of the Hindu month Margashirhsa is called the Mokshada Ekadashi. Lord Krishna is to be worshiped on this Ekadashi. The devotees, especially the Vaishnava community, keep a fast of 24 hours, on Mokshada Ekadashi to honor Lord Krishna. Hence, on Mokshada Ekadashi in 2014, observe a Vrat (fast) and please Lord Krishna to gain his blessings.

The occasion of Mokshada Ekadashi coincides with the celebrations of Gita Jayanti, which is known to be the day when Lord Krishna narrated the holy lessons of Bhagvad Gita to Arjuna (Pandava prince). So, on this Mokshada Ekadashi in 2014, worship Lord Krishna and the holy text of Bhagvad Gita. This will help in removing the sins of the past and gives favorable results to the observer of the Mokshada Ekadashi fast. MOKSHA EKADASHI PUJA

The person observing fast should go to the temple for performing Puja after taking the bath. Vishnu Path should be performed either in the temple or at home while taking the resolution of fast in front of God. The fast is concluded on Dvadashi (a day after Ekadashi), after giving donations to the Brahmans. Performing Jagran on the night of Vrat, increases the virtues obtained by fasting. By observing the fast of Mokshada Ekadashi, ancestors of a person reach to heaven, who were staying in hell, after death.

SIGNIFICANCE OF MOKSHA EKADASHI

In ancient time, a king named Vaikhanas used to live in the city of Gokul. His kingdom had the scholar Brahmans of the four Vedas. One night, king dreamt of his  father in hell. He became upset by seeing the condition of his father.

Early morning he reached the Brahman and narrated his dream. He said after seeing the condition of his father all comforts and luxury seemed useless for him. He requested the Brahmans to tell him about any meditation, charity, Vrat etc. which could give salvation to his father’s soul. Brahmans told him about a Muni named Parvat, who knew about the past and future. And, they suggested the king to get solution from the Muni.

King reached the Ashram of Muni and saw many sages performing meditation in silence. King approached the Muni, bowed to him and told about the problem. Muni immediately closed his eyes and after sometime, he said “Your father had committed some wrong works in his last birth, so, he went to hell, after death.”

Listening this, king pleaded Muni to tell him a way for his father’s salvation. Muni said him to observe the fast of Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha, Margshirsha Masa. And told that, by the virtues of this Ekadashi fast, father of the king shall get salvation. Hence, the king observed the fast together with his family. As a result, his father received heaven and, his father gave him blessings while going to heaven.

Margashirsha Amavasya or No moon day

As we all know, there are 12 Amavasya days every year. As the Moon completes its cycle, it comes up as a new moon. When the moon is in the process of completing its cycle, the front side of the Moon comes on darker side of earth; and the back side of Moon remains the same i.e. bright. But, we cannot see the bright (back) side of moon. So, new moon is not visible from earths perspective. New moon occurs every month.

Sankashti Chaturthi monthly fasting dedicated to Ganesha in Margashirsha Mahina is on December 9, 2014 – Moonrise or Chandrodaya is at 8:34 PM – Indian Standard Time. The day is highly auspicious as Angarak Sankashti Chaturthi is observed on the day.

दक्षिण दिशा : इस दिशा में धन, सोना, चाँदी और आभूषण रखने से नुकसान तो नहीं होता परंतु बढ़ोत्तरी भी विशेष नहीं होती है।

ईशान कोण : यहां पैसा, धन और आभूषण रखे जाएं तो यह दर्शाता है कि घर का मुखिया बुद्धिमान है और यदि यह उत्तर ईशान में रखे हों तो घर की एक कन्या संतान और यदि पूर्व ईशान में रखे हों तो एक पुत्र संतान बहुत बुद्धिमान और प्रसिद्ध होता है।

1. प्रति दिन अगर रोटी सेंकने से पहले तवे पर दूध के छींटे मारें, तो घर में बीमारी का प्रकोप कम होगा

तथा मनोकामना के साथ पांच परिक्रमा करें। शीघ्र मनोकामना पूर्ण होगी
7. प्रति दिन सवेरे पहली रोटी गाय को, दूसरी रोटी कुत्ते को एवं तीसरी रोटी छत पर
पक्षियों को डालें। इससे पितृदोष से मुक्ति मिलती है तथा पितृदोष के कारण प्राप्त कष्ट समाप्त होते हैं
8. किसी भी दिन शुभ-घड़ियों में पांच किलो साबूत नमक एक थैली में लाकर अपने घर में
ऐसी जगह रखें जहां पानी ना लगे। यदि अपने आप पानी लग जाए तो इसे काम में ना ले,
फेंक दे तथा नया नमक लाकर रख दें। यह घर के नकारात्मक प्रभाव को कम करता है एवं सकारात्मक प्रभाव को बढाता है
